I’ve shared my Conversion Trinity concept with countless numbers of people interested in improving their click-through (CTR) and conversion rates. The key is in identifying the relevance for the audience and clearly articulating the value to that audience of your offering. This is not a trivial task. So I was a bit skeptical that crowdsourcing to a network of copywriters could bring people these kinds of quality ads.

Crowdsourcing Ad Writing, huh?

Last May, I was first introduced to a company called BoostCTR. I loved the model of the business, but knowing very little about the company or how it really worked I couldn’t envision it being a viable solution, so I never tried nor recommended them. They guaranteed to boost the CTR of your ad or your money back for relatively low costs by using crowdsourcing. They maintain a network of writers who enter “contests” to beat your ads. So they remained in my awareness but nothing significant to think about.

Then in December, I was introduced to the CEO David Greenbaum. Jeffrey and I have spent some quality time with him and his results to know, he has something going here.

Take a look at some of these before and after PPC ads below:

Which ads do you think were the winners? Why do you think so? You can find out more about why we think some of these ads one by reading the PPC Ad Win of the Week posts on the BoostCTR blog.

Some of you must be wondering why is it that some of the ads don’t repeat the keyphrase in the ad to maintain scent. Well as David Greenbaum says ““What emerges after looking at the large number of ad optimizations that we have run for our clients is this: Comprehending a searcher’s intent and writing to it is the most powerful tool in the PPC copywriters arsenal.  Including keywords in an ad is just the ante – the real lift comes from utilzing applied psychology.“ You can’t really increase click-throughs when your ad and your competitors sound the same. You must get to the true intent of the searcher and explain your value immediately.

I am proud to announce that Jeffrey and I have joined the BoostCTR advisory board. Want one of your ads enhanced by BoostCTR? Well they’ll normally let you test them out for $79 for the first ad, but our readers can get their first shot at having an ad boosted for just $39.
